I think it makes perfect sense to give yourself a name as the author of Chasing Eros. If you would like to use a pseudonym, you can just make one up. It's fun. Happy new year and many thanks for your delightful blog!

Hey! And a happy new year to you, too.

I've always been an obsessively private person, and the odds of me ever using my own name here are close to zero. But I am increasingly feeling the urge to take some kind of name to express my identity, if not my identity, if you see what I mean. Because really, 'Nameless' feels like the opposite of who I actually am. I have a very strong sense of self. Just not sexually. But I suppose what I'm starting to feel is that my non-sexual self and my sexual self are not different things - which, really, ought to be obvious, I suppose.

I do find your blog very worthwhile, though a bit dangerous, time-wise. It's all the linking to other posts that does it - they all sound so fascinating that I want to read them all right away. I currently have five posts open in different tabs, not including the external links, and that's only because I've just got up and those are the ones I didn't get to before I went to bed - there were a lot more last night.

I find the interplay between free speech and anonymity versus identity very interesting. It's why I've chosen not to be anonymous online, despite the potential risks this brings on board.

In any event, I'm happy to hear you're reading my blog, and I hope you find it worthwhile!

Happy new year. :)
